Community Relations
Brantford Power is proud to partner with a number of worthwhile organizations that help make our City a better community.

Share the Warmth is a registered, not for profit charity that raises funds to purchase heat and energy on behalf of families, seniors, the chronically ill and disabled persons living at or near the poverty level.
Brantford Power is pleased to be a partner with Share the Warmth. We believe the program can significantly relieve the financial burden of heating and energy costs for the most needy among us.
If we all work together, we can help ensure that Share the Warmth is a highly successful program dedicated to improving the quality of life in Brantford.
To help, call Share the Warmth's automated donation line at 1 (905) 565-WARM or visit their
Web site at www.sharethewarmth.org.
Participation House, a home for the physically disabled, has particular significance for Brantford Power employees. Each year, we organize a fundraising barbecue and auction that have raised thousands of dollars for the much-needed facility.
Our Participation House campaign started in 1998 to commemorate the then-recent death of Dan Ritchie, a former Brantford Power employee and Participation House board member.
Brantford Power is also pleased to sponsor two C.D. Wilson bursaries worth $500 each for students at Laurier Brantford. The award supports two second, third or fourth year students taking at least two courses per term with a cumulative GPA of 6.5 (C+). Eligible students must reside in the City of Brantford. Preference is given to individuals who are involved with arts in the community. Laurier administers the bursaries. Eligibility requirements and application procedures are posted on the Laurier website.
The award is in memory of C.D. [Doug] Wilson, a former Commissioner of Corporate Services and General Counsel for the City of Brantford and Chief Executive Officer of Brantford Energy Corporation. Mr. Wilson was a principal architect of Brantford's Energy Group of Companies and executive adviser to the Boards of Directors.

Ingrid Hannath, Director of Student Services congratulates, Jennifer Hicks, one the 2006 recipients of the C.D. Wilson Award sponsored by Brantford Power. Ms. Hicks is a third year student in the Honours Contemporary Studies and Criminology program at Laurier Brantford. Laurier Brantford hosted a luncheon to recognize and celebrate the student award recipients and donors at Laurier Brantford on March 24, 2006, at the Wilfred Laurier University Student Centre.
