Electrical Inspections

What You Should Know

An electrical inspection is required for any new electrical installation.  This includes any work done by an electrician. The inspection will ensure that the job has been done properly and safely and meets the standards of the Ontario Electrical Safety Code.  Inspections are performed by the Electrical Safety Authority (ESA).

Services that have been disconnected for a period of six months or longer must also be re-inspected and approved by ESA prior to reconnection.    A valid ESA notification to reconnect may also be required if the service is disconnected for electrical work by the customer or as a result of fire, tampering or some other safety concern as determined by Brantford Power.

For more information on electrical inspections before connections, please view our Conditions of Service.
